​My passion for boats started when I was about 16, visiting my uncle’s cottage in Clayton NY and helping him restore various Chris Craft classic wooden boats. I continue this passion today as a life member, past Commodore and current board member of a working club / marina on the Hudson River.  

 

Having owned several boats over a 30 year period, I maintain and improve my own vessels, have re-built engines, installed drive shafts and propellers, installed outboard motors, light fiberglass work, engine and systems maintenance, very comfortable with vessel electrical systems, etc.​

I gained hands on experience as past commodore and life member of a "working club" (members build and maintain marina).

Working members build, repair and install docks. Docks are secured using 4” steel pipe or 12” wood pilings. Served approximately seven years as captain of our custom made pile driver with hydraulic winches and 1000lb hammer with free fall capability. Propulsion provided by twin outboards, no rudder. Prior leadership roles included committee head for membership, head of utilities; providing power and water to the slips. Duties include rewiring Dock A, installing new light stanchions, converting to LED, repairing issues as needed. In addition to running pile driver, I operate our diesel push boat with spud anchors, smaller work boat and on land, backhoe or launch truck. Notable projects include removing and replacing outboard motors for the pile driver as well as the work boat, working on hydraulic repairs for our Terex 55T crane.​
